# CmdMon v1.3.5 — Command Line Monitor for Windows

## What's in the box

| File | Purpose |
|---|---|
| `install.bat` | Run as Admin to install the service + tray app |
| `uninstall.bat` | Run as Admin to remove everything |
| `CmdMonSvc.exe` | Windows Service (logs cmd/powershell launches) |
| `CmdMonTray.exe` | System tray icon app |
| `icon.ico` | App icon |
| `AssemblyInfo.cs` | Version info (source) |
| `CmdMonSvc.cs` | Service source code |
| `CmdMonTray.cs` | Tray app source code |

## How to install

1. Right-click `install.bat` → **Run as administrator**
2. When prompted, choose whether to **start monitoring now** (or let it start automatically on next reboot).
3. The CmdMon tray icon launches right away — check its status popup, or right-click it to control monitoring / view the log.

## New in v1.3.5 — tray app & installer

- **Tray app launches immediately** after install — no need to wait for the next login.
- **Status notification** on first launch tells you whether monitoring is active, or that it will begin on next reboot.
- **Installer now asks** whether to start monitoring now, instead of assuming it starts automatically.
- Monitoring only logs from the moment the service is running — either instantly (if you chose "start now") or from your next reboot.

## How to use

- **System tray** — green "C>" icon in the notification area
- **Right-click** → Disable/Enable monitoring, View Log, Open Log Folder
- **Double-click** → Opens the log in Notepad

## Log location

`C:\ProgramData\CmdMon\cmd_history.csv`

## Uninstall

Right-click `uninstall.bat` → **Run as administrator**

## Requirements

- Windows 7, 8, 10, or 11
